Infographics
This style of data display includes a series of facts about a specific subject, often oriented
in one tall column. Unfortunately, many infographics are merely tall posters full of
cheesy images and individual percentages or figures. Often, the figures are accompanied
by an ill-advised attempt at a visualization that skews the proportions horribly. But just
because many abuse this format doesn't mean it's useless.
Figure 12-8
shows one attempt
to convey a series of facts about a particularly amazing feat of bravery.
