You can also see that we captured the spots where we took photos, showing them as custom
camera shapes and mapping them on top of our route using a dual-axis map. We also linked
these camera icons to the actual photos online, so you can click on each one and be taken to a
website showing the photo. We'll consider how to do this when we cover Dashboard Actions
later on.
All of the maps we've created so far in this topic have made use of the Urban Mapping tiles
that are triggered whenever we use a field with a “Geographic Role” (as indicated by the
globe icon next to the field name in the Dimensions or Measures pane). Often, however, we
want to show the relative position of different objects with reference to a space other than the
surface of the earth, such as a building floor plan or some other object projected onto a plane.
Lastly, we're going to make use of Tableau's built-in geographical filled maps to make a dif-
ferent kind of filled map: one in which the shapes of the regions are placed on types of views
we considered earlier in the topic: scatterplots and bar plots.
