In-Depth Information
suitable for HCS analysis. Table 9.2 lists the most representative
instruments currently available for image-based HCS and their
type of optics. Their characteristics diff er regarding light source,
the feasibility of carrying out kinetic assays, autofocus technology,
resolution, dynamic range of the camera, and software for analysis,
among several other features. Moreover, almost every brand off ers
its own proprietary algorithms for cell analysis and there are even
companies that also off er kits for developing the assays [4].
