6.9 Optical Fiber
Optical sensor systems are relying on changes in fluorescence, wavelength
absorption, or reflection. Like other kinds of biosensors and E-noses in particular,
these sensors make the most of the interaction between molecules in the gaseous
phase, which are adsorbed onto a sensitive layer and result in changes of their
optical properties.
