AARON and its robot take about four hours to colour a whole paint-
ing, but the results are worth it, commercially as well as aesthetically (see
Figure 43 ) . Even at its first showing at the Computer Museum in Boston
in 1995 the paintings AARON was generating were selling for $2,000.
But eventually Cohen decided to put the robot to one side, because the
attention it was attracting by its physical dexterity and cleverness was
masking the creative side of AARON's talents.
