Foods to try
Central Thailand has many cuisines to try with both native Thai options and imported inter-
national cuisine brought by the many visitors to Thailand.
For travelers who like spicy hot dishes try the Isan cuisine which borrows from Laos styles.
If you want to keep from damaging your taste buds say "mai pet" or "pet nit noy" to order
less spice with your meal. Some Isan foods to try are "som tam", a spicy salad made of un-
ripe papayas, "khao niew", sticky rice, which goes well with "kai yang" and "moo yang",
grilled chicken and grilled pork respectively. Wash it down with a drink of orange juice,
chilli peppers and rum.
