One month to see it all
For those who mean serious business when it comes to vacation you are lucky to be able to
spend it in such a wonderful country. Like the others start with a few days in Bangkok and
take your time traveling north, there are many great side trips along the way. Once you hit
Chiang Mai you can find some great trekking and the multi-day excursions are a great way
to see the views.
When you're ready to sunbathe head to the coasts. You can visit Koh Samui to party, Koh
Pha Ngan to party harder and Ko Tao to get away from it all under the sea. On the west coast
you can go to Ko Phi Phi, one of the prettiest spots in all of Thailand. If you have some baht
to burn you can stay at ocean view resorts and listen to the waves as you fall asleep. You
have plenty of time to take the slow road while you travel between destinations and that can
be a worthwhile adventure on its own.
Regardless of how long your trip is remember that less is more. Pack less than you think you
will need, you can always buy it there. Don't try to see too many things in one day as you
won't enjoy them as much. Plan regular rest days so that you can put your feet up and catch
up on sleep. Also account for travel time, you don't want to be traveling for 12 hours every
other day so make sure you have at least a few days between long travel days or nights.
