Two weeks North and South
For those looking to see a broader spectrum of Thailand with friendly people and great food
then consider getting a taste of Thailand from north to south.
Bangkok is a busy city with a lot to see like Wat Pho and the Grand Palace, exciting neigh-
borhoods and plenty of shopping. If malls aren't your cup of tea then you can get out of
Bangkok sooner and head for hills after just a few days. You can take a bus, train or plane
up to Chiang Mai either in a matter of hours or overnight. There are many activities in and
around Chiang Mai and numerous nearby destinations like Pai, the backpacker hangout, and
motorbiking around Mae Hong Son. You can easily spend anywhere from a few days to two
weeks in the north and always find new things to discover.
The final ingredient of an unforgettable trip to Thailand are the islands. There are many to
choose from like the touristy Phuket, the popular Koh Samui and the wild Ko Pha Ngan. If
you are short on time then the best plan is to find the right island for you and camp out there.
For those with more time then you can venture out into the island hopping experience.
