In-Depth Information
In the Project Window press 'Alt' then double-click on CloudsLoop.mov and
another Footage Window opens within the Composition Window. But this one
looks a little different from the first one opened. It has several options along
the bottom edge missing, while the timecode readouts have two additional
functions to their right in place of some window preview and masking functions.
These two additional editing functions allow you to pre-edit your clip then drop
the finished clip into the Timeline as:
A
Ripple Insert Edit - the selected clip's
active area is added to the Timeline as a
new layer 1 at the current CTI position,
while all other layers get split in two with
their latter portion moved further down the Timeline aligned to the end
of the new clip's OUT point.
B
Overlay Edit - the clip's active area is added to the Timeline, aligned to
the CTI, as a new layer 1, not affecting any other layers.
