If you click on the black arrows next to the Keyframe check-boxes the CTI will
jump to the closest previous Keyframe. Similarly, when a right-facing arrow is
showing, clicking on it will jump the CTI forward to the next Keyframe set.
Another favorite helper of mine is the Solo switch
(right). Click on it when you need to focus your
attention on one (or more) layer's adjustment. Just
don't forget to switch it off before you render! Now
save your work (Ctrl
S) as 'WONK TV

Blending Modes
A brief look at the Composition Window will show that the layers we added to
the Timeline Window create an unfinished image. The Hair-16.mov layer
appears as a black box on top of the WONK TV logo, which is on top of the
Lines, which blocks everything else behind. What is needed is a way to mix the
various layers, permitting each to be seen or used as a source for another
layer's effects.
After Effects performs this mixing of layers through the use of the Blending
Modes - an assorted selection of transfer methods of one layer's contents to
the layers beneath. If you are familiar with Photoshop and its Layer Blending
