Composition Settings
Begin by modifying your composition's settings - with the Timeline Window
active (selected), press 'Ctrl
K' to open the Composition Settings dialog box.
1 Modify the following:
change the Composition
Name to 'WONK TV -
Design Test_Build 01', then
set the screen size to 640
360 with Square Pixels at
24 fps, and change the
Duration to 10:00, but do not
close the window.
I used a long name to show
you an After Effects limitation -
as of this version's release, file
and composition names have
a 31-character limit. This does not imply that your imported resources can't
have longer names than that. It only means that your long-file-name resources
will have their names truncated in the Project Window and Timeline Window
layers.
2
Notice also that the Timecode Base for the Composition Settings might
be set to 30 (though it could be 25 for PAL). Click 'OK' and return to the
Timeline Window - you'll probably need to reconcile the Timecode Base
differences. To demonstrate this conflict with your project's Timecode
Base, press the 'End' key to jump to the last frame of the Timeline. Look
at the time display ('Ctrl
click' on the blue numbers to cycle through
the various numerical display options) and you should see 0:00:09:28
(PAL numbers will be different). This is because
the display Timecode Base is set to 30 fps.
3
Open the Project Settings dialog, File
Project
Settings (Ctrl
K), then change
the Display Style - Timecode Base to 24 fps and
press 'OK'.
