In-Depth Information
Color - you can animate the color of the Stroke, but the color change is
applied uniformly across the Stroke's path.
Diameter - the brush size is adjustable, but the size change is uniform
throughout the Brush's path.
Angle - if you use a non-round Brush, you can adjust the rotation angle of
the Brush.
Hardness - defines the Brush edge fall-off; low numbers look like
airbrushes while high numbers give harsher edges.
Roundness - defines how circular the Brush Paint Stroke appears; low
numbers are highly elongated while high numbers are more circular.
Spacing - determines how closely Paint dabs are drawn along the path;
low numbers make the dabs appear as one continuous Paint Stroke while
high numbers look like individual drops of paint.
Opacity and Flow - the same as the Paint Brush palette's settings.
It's important to understand that even though the Brush's Strokes options are
animatable, their property will be applied consistently along the complete
path - i.e. if you animate a Brush Stroke that was drawn with varying Brush sizes
(drawn with a Wacom), animating the Brush Diameter will alter the whole
stroke, making the thin lines thicker and the thick lines really thick.
Vector Paint Tool - Organic Shape Rotoscope
Vector Paint strokes lack the individual properties of the standard Paint Tool.
But this tool offers something the standard Paint Brush does not: the Wiggle
function, a really fun modifier that twists, bends, and ripples your Brush Strokes.
It also has the advantage of
working directly in the Comp
Window.
