it's actually missing edge details that Keylight keeps that blend the foreground
image into the background (right image) to make them look 'as one'.
Rotoscope - Garbage Mattes
For the sake of productivity, pretend that the PDA green-screen footage has all
kinds of contamination and obstructions to remove. Usually, when Green/Blue
Screen footage is shot, there's much detritus mixed into the shot that needs to
be removed prior to the Key. By using the Pen Tool you can quickly (that is a
relative statement because Rotoscoping is an inherently tedious process)
eliminate the clutter to isolate the objects you want to keep.
1
In layer 1 of the PDA Green-Screen Comp, disable all effects.
2
Select the Pan Tool (G) and activate the RotoBezier option.
3
Double-click on layer 1 to open its Layer Window.
4
Go to frame 24 and draw a Mask around the hand and PDA.
5
In the Timeline add a Keyframe to the Mask Shape (M) property by
activating the stopwatch.
When creating Rotoscope Masks with RotoBezier it's good practice to set your
vertices loosely around the object and to use as few as possible. This makes
altering the Mask much simpler.
