Make Replacement Comp for Any Format
Though the
With Layered Comp function only works on
Photoshop *.psd files, it's not all that difficult to replicate its capability for any
file format:
Replace Footage
1
Re-import the original file you wish to 'Make Replacement Comp'.
2
Select the new import and drag it down
onto the Create New Composition button.
This second step can trick you because there's
nothing in the Project Window to immediately
identify that a file is in use. You have to select each file in turn and refer to the
File Information thumbnail at the top of the Project Window to see if it's in use.
3
Drag and Replace the new import's Precomp onto the original file in the
Project Window.
4
Apply the original files' Interpret Footage settings to this copy - select
the original file, press 'Ctrl
Alt
C', then select the new import and
press 'Ctrl
Alt
V'.
