9
Press 'E' to open the Effects properties applied to this layer.
10
Click on Set Matte, then press 'Delete'.
You can delete the old Set Matte
source layer ( Axis Spike - ALPHA.mov )
from the Master Comp since you've
just combined it to the Precomp. If
you drag the CTI back and forth, the
Axis Spike will still follow its path and
change colors as before.
Now when you use the Pan Behind Tool (Y) on the Axis Spike Precomp the
image stays keyed correctly, while its animated frames advance. By using the
Pan Behind Tool you are simultaneously changing both the In Point and Out
Point of your clip; therefore, the clip's duration never changes.
Duplicate the Precomp three times. Use the Pan Behind Tool on each Axis layer,
click and drag by different amounts - you should end up with each Axis located
at the same screen position, but each image should be at different locations of
their animation clip.
Pan Behind Tool - Part 3: Keyframes
The Pan Behind Tool can also be used on Keyframes in conjunction with your layer's
Timeline. This allows the user to maintain a clip's In and Out Points while shifting the
layer's Keyframes.
11
Delete the three
duplicate Axis Spike
Precomps.
12
Select the original Axis
layer.
13
Press 'U' to reveal its
Keyframes.
14
Select all Scale property
Keyframes (click on Scale).
