WYSiWYG
An acronym for “what you see is what you
get.” It's a description applied to preview
features that show you exactly what a screen
will look like when printed.
wireframe
A view of a three-dimensional object that
uses lines to represent the intersections of
planes. The planes defined by these lines
represent surfaces of building components,
machine parts, and so on.

workspace

A customizable arrangement of dockable pal-
ettes, menus, and toolbars for the graphics
window that can be named, saved, and made
current by using the Tools Workspaces
menu.
XY plane
The two-dimensional flat surface, defined
by the x- and y-axes, which is parallel to the
monitor screen in a new AutoCAD drawing
file.
World Coordinate System
The default User Coordinate System for all
new drawing files, in which the positive
directions for the x- and y-axes are to the
right and upward respectively, and the posi-
tive direction for the z-axis is toward the
user and perpendicular to the plane of the
screen.
Z
ZOOM
The name of a command with several
options, all of which allow the user to
increase or decrease the magnification of the
view of the current drawing in the drawing
area or in a viewport .
