selection set
SNAPBASE
Any object or group of objects that have
been selected for modification or have been
selected to be used in a modification process.
A command (and setting) used to reset
the origin of a hatch pattern . By default,
SNAPBASE is set to 0,0,0.
selection window
Snap mode
A tool for selecting objects whereby the user
creates a rectangular window in the draw-
ing area . Objects are selected in two ways,
depending on whether the selection window
is a crossing window or a regular window .
An on/off setting that locks the cursor onto a
spatial grid, which is usually aligned with the
grid , allowing you to draw to distances that
are multiples of the grid spacing. When the
grid spacing is set to 0, the grid aligns with
the snap spacing.

A shingle typically made by splitting a piece
of wood into flat pieces several inches in
length.
The underside of the roof overhang that
extends from the outside edge of the roof,
back to the wall.
sheet set
solid
A list of drawings, specifically layout tabs,
along with information such as title block
text stored within a .dst file and used by
Sheet Set Manager .

defined boundary with a solid color. 2. A
three-dimensional object in AutoCAD that
has properties similar to those of a solid
block of material, such as mass, center of
gravity, density, and so on.
Sheet Set Manager
A purpose-built interface for creating, manag-
ing, and plotting drawings that is exclusively
found inside AutoCAD (not AutoCAD LT).
stud
A vertical piece of lumber or metal used in
framing walls. It's usually 2″×4″ or 2″×6″ in
cross dimension and extends the height of
the wall.
single-line text
A type of text object in AutoCAD in which
each line of text is treated as a single object
with its own justification point , whether it be
a sentence, word, or letter.
Surveyor's units
An angular unit of direction in which the
value is the angle that the direction deviates
away (or bears ) from true north or south,
toward the east or west.
small format
Typically classified as any drawing sheet
11″×17″ and smaller in size.
