In-Depth Information
linetype
MIRROR
The style of appearance of a line. AutoCAD
styles include continuous, dashed, dash-dot,
and so on.
A command that makes a copy of selected
objects and flips the copy around a speci-
fied line to produce a mirror image of those
objects.
linetype scale
mirror line
A numeric value for noncontinuous linetypes
that controls the size of dashes and spaces
between dashes and dots. In an AutoCAD
drawing, a global linetype scale controls all
noncontinuous linetypes in the drawing, and
an individual linetype scale can be applied to
one or more selected lines. Defined by setting
the LTSCALE, MSLTSCALE, and PSLTSCALE
drawing variables.
An imaginary or existing line about which an
object is flipped by the MIRROR command.
model space
The portion of an AutoCAD drawing that
contains the entities, such as lines and text,
which represent the building or object being
designed, as opposed to the general notes
and title block information, which are kept
on a layout .
lineweight
1. Layer property found inside the Layer
Properties Manager offering 24 different
line widths ranging from 0.00″ to 0.83″. 2.
Property within a .ctb or .stb plot style
table that defines a line's width based on
the color or plot style property in the Layer
Properties Manager.
Mtext
See multiline text .
multileader
Similar to leader, a multileader has addi-
tional options for controlling the leader text
and creating additional leader lines that
function as a single object. See leader .
M
multiline text
mapping
A type of text in which an entire body of text
is grouped together as one object. Informally
called Mtext, it can be edited with word pro-
cessing techniques. Individual characters or
words in the Mtext can have different heights,
fonts, and colors from the main body of Mtext.
Dimension text is Mtext. When exploded,
Mtext becomes single-line text .
The method used to project an image map
onto the surfaces of an object.
menu bar
The set of drop-down menus at the top of the
Application window . By default, these menus
are only shown in the AutoCAD Classic work-
space. See also Ribbon .
