crosshair cursor
cycling
A form of the cursor that consists of a hori-
zontal line and a vertical line intersecting at
their midpoints, resembling the crosshair in
a sighting device.
See selection cycling .

crossing selection window
default
A selection tool that selects an area defined
by two points acting as opposite corners of a
rectangle, which is made from left to right.
All objects within or crossing the rectangle
are selected. See also selection window .
A value or option in a command that will
be used unless you designate otherwise. In
AutoCAD, default values and options are
enclosed in angle brackets (< >).
dimension style
curb return
A collection of settings for dimension vari-
ables that is saved in a drawing under a
specified name. Dimensions placed in the
drawing follow the settings of the current
dimension style.
The arc which defines the radial transition
between two or more intersecting vehicular
paths such as roads and driveways.
current uCS
dimension text
The User Coordinate System that is active
in a drawing. It determines the positive X, Y,
and Z directions.
The text in a dimension. It expresses
the measurement that the dimension is
displaying.
cursor
dimension variables
The pointing symbol on the computer moni-
tor that is moved using the mouse. It can
appear as, among other things, an arrow , a
pickbox , and a crosshair. See also crosshair
cursor .
A group of settings and values that control
the appearance of dimensions in AutoCAD.
direct entry
An option for specifying the next point in a
series of points by using the cursor to indi-
cate direction and the keyboard to enter the
distance from the last point.
custom workspace
See workspace .
cutting edge
docking
The role certain objects can be temporarily
assigned to play in a trimming operation.
If an object is designated as a cutting edge,
lines or other objects being trimmed are
trimmed back to the point where they inter-
sect the cutting edge.
Relocating a toolbar or a palette to a place
outside the drawing area so it won't interfere
with the AutoCAD drawing or other items on
the screen.
