12. After choosing the points to define the reference length, enter 8.5
( 210 ) to scale your title block to the exact height of 8.5 (210 mm).
You may need to perform a Zoom Extents to bring the title block
back into view. Click the Save Block button on the Open/Save panel
of the Block Editor Tab, and then exit the Block Editor by clicking
the Close Block Editor button on the Close panel.
13. Enter WBLOCK at the command line to open the Write Block dialog
box, shown in Figure 14.4. Choose Block as the Source and select the
TTLB-8H11 block from the drop-down list.
14. Finally, click the ellipsis button at the end of the File Name And
Path text box to create a file named 14A-BD8H11 in your Chapter 14
Training Data directory.
There is no official
NCS naming conven-
tion for title block
references. Because
the title block will
be used as a model
file, you'll create a
name using the same
framework pre-
scribed by the NCS
for model files. The
BD code will serve
as a model file type
code for Border,
and the model type
code will be in the
WWhh format. that
is, the first two char-
acters will specify
the width (8- ½
inches, so 8h in this
case), and the last
two will specify the
height (11 ). Using
this framework, the
final filename will be
14A-BD8H11 .

Verify that your Write Block dialog box looks like Figure 14.4 and
click OK to finish the command.
15. Save the drawing 13A-FPLAY3.dwg as 14A-FPLAY1.dwg , and close it.

You have now extracted the title block out of your floor plan layout drawing, and
created a new drawing with nothing but the title block. The construction document,
sometimes called the CD set, will use the common 8½ ″× 11 (A4 - 210 mm × 297 mm)
sheet size. When using the DWF plotter in AutoCAD, that sheet size has a printable
area of 7.65 ″× 10.54 (285.4 mm × 188.4 mm). Currently, the interior of the title block
