Drawing the Back Deck and Stairs
The deck, handrails, posts, and stairs at the rear portion of the cabin are similar to
the same features at the front of the cabin. One of the most significant strengths
of CAD software over traditional hand drafting is the ability to use existing geom-
etry and linework in a drawing to create additional identical or similar objects. In
this section, you will first mirror the front deck to the back of the cabin. I will then
introduce you to the STRETCH command to adjust the lines to match the cabin's
structure. Figure 5.29 shows the dimensions of the rear deck that are different from
those on the front deck.

1. Make sure 05A-FPLAY2.dwg is open.
2. Verify the following drawing modes are active: Polar Tracking, Object
Snap, and Dynamic Input.
3. Start the MIRROR command.
