Set Up a Second Display
You can improve your productivity and efficiency by connecting a second monitor to your
Mac Pro. For this to work, your extra display must have a video input port that matches an
unused video output port on your Mac Pro, such as a Thunderbolt port or the HDMI port for
connection to an HDTV. If you do not have such a port, check with Apple or the display man-
ufacturer to see if an adapter is available that enables your Mac Pro to connect with the
second display. After you connect your Mac Pro to the display, you can extend the OS X
desktop across both monitors.
