Microphone Port
Your Mac Pro comes with a microphone port that serves as an audio input connec-
tion. This enables you to provide audio for apps that support it, such as FaceTime,
which you use to make Internet or network-based video phone calls (see Chapter 7 ),
and Messages, which you use to conduct audio chats (also covered in Chapter 7 ).
Speaker Port
Your Mac Pro comes with a speaker port that serves as an audio output connection.
This enables you to send the audio created by applications such as FaceTime, Mes-
sages, iTunes (see Chapter 11 ) , and iMovie (see Chapter 13 ) to speakers, a sound
system, or headphones.
