Mount a Disk Image
If you have created a disk image, downloaded a disk image from the Internet, or received a
disk image from another person, you can open the file in Disk Utility. This is called mounting
the disk image. Once you have mounted the disk image, you can perform other tasks, such
as burning the image to an optical disc, as described in the next section, “ Burn a Disk Image
to a CD or DVD .
If you only want to view the contents of a disk image, you can usually just double-click the
file. Other tasks (such as burning) require the disk image to be mounted in Disk Utility.
Mount a Disk Image
Click Spotlight ( ).
Type disk .
Click Disk Utility .
The Disk Utility window appears.
