In the status bar, read the available value, which tells you the amount of free space
left on the hard drive.
If you do not see the status bar, press + .
Display Free Space on the Desktop
Display your Mac Pro's HD (hard drive) icon on the desktop, as described in the first
tip.
Click the desktop.

Show View Options

The Desktop dialog appears.
