Create a Custom Ringtone in GarageBand
Besides the iTunes method shown in the previous section, “ Create a Custom Ringtone in
iTunes , ” you can also create a custom ringtone for use in iOS devices using the GarageBand
app. GarageBand is part of the iLife suite that comes preinstalled in all new Mac Pros. You
normally use GarageBand to compose new music using both computer-generated instru-
ments and real instruments attached to Mac Pro. However, you can also use GarageBand to
convert a portion of a song into a ringtone.
Create a Custom Ringtone in GarageBand
Click GarageBand ( ) in the Dock.
Click iPhone Ringtone .
Click Choose .
The New Project from Template dialog appears.
Type a name for the project.
