In-Depth Information
Locate the folder or file you want to import.
Click and drag the item and drop it on the iTunes icon in the Dock.
iTunes imports the media.
TIP
Does iTunes create a copy of the files I import?
Yes. This is a good idea if the files are located on your network or on an external drive, be-
cause it ensures that iTunes always has access to the files. However, if the files reside on
your Mac Pro hard drive, creating copies takes up disk space needlessly. In that case, you
can prevent iTunes from making copies by clicking
iTunes
, clicking
Preferences
, clicking
the
Advanced
tab, and then deselecting the
Copy files to iTunes Media folder when
adding to library
option ( changes to ).
