Set Your Status
If you are using Messages with a non-iMessage account, such as Google or AOL, or with
Bonjour, you can manually set your current status, which your buddies will see when they try
to chat with you.
Note that Messages also sets your status automatically in certain situations. For example,
when you have not used your Mac Pro for a while, Messages changes your status to Away.
Similarly, Messages changes your status to Offline when you switch to a different Mac Pro
user account or when you quit Messages.
