Disable Remote Images
You can make your e-mail address more private by thwarting the remote images inserted into
some e-mail messages. A remote image is an image that resides on an Internet server com-
puter instead of being embedded in the e-mail message. A special code in the message tells
the server to display the image when you open the message. This is usually benign, but the
same code can also alert the sender of the message that your e-mail address is working. If
the sender is a spammer, then this usually results in you receiving even more junk e-mail.
You can prevent this by disabling remote images.
