TIP
How does a website know that I am using Safari?
When you access a website, it has the option of asking the web browser to provide a string
called the user agent , which identifies the web browser and provides extra data such as
the browser version number and operating system type (such as OS X or Windows). Any
site that supports only specific web browsers will ask for the user agent data and then use
code to examine the data and decide whether the browser is allowed to access the site. In
the workaround described in this section, you are telling Safari to provide the site with a
different user agent string.
