TIPS
Can I connect my Mac Pro to a MacBook Air, which does not have a net-
work port?
Yes. However, you will need to use a USB network adapter to make the connection. Good
examples are the Apple Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter ($29) and the Apple USB
Ethernet Adapter ($29).
Can I connect Mac Pro to another Mac using a Thunderbolt cable?
Yes, but OS X does not set up a network interface between the two machines. Instead, you
must start up the other Mac in target disk mode , which configures the other Mac to appear
as an external hard disk on your Mac Pro. To get the other Mac into target disk mode, start
it and hold down .
