Chapter 3
Crash Guide to Social Skills In Spanish
In this section, we will discuss how to greet, get to know each other, make friends, etc. re-
member that greeting in most Spanish-speaking countries includes one kiss on the cheek
between females (two in Spain) and hand-shakes between men. The kiss on the cheek usu-
ally is just a light touch of the cheek and you kiss the air. Sometimes you will find that a man
and woman will greet with a kiss and sometimes with just a handshake. It is usually import-
ant to make direct eye contact when greeting each other. This chapter will include phrases
to help you to greet others and describe yourself, job, interests, and family. Here are some
phrases to help you meet some people and make some friends!
-Meet and greet
-Describing your world
-Phrases using 'Tener' '
