The Articles in English include 'the', 'a', and 'an.' In Spanish, on the other hand, there are
eight different articles. Four of them mean 'the' and four mean 'a' or 'an.' They are said
differently according to gender (masculine or feminine) and number (singular or plural).

¡Ojo! 'El,' 'la,' 'los,' and 'las' all mean 'the' in English.
Ex:
el libro --- the topic
la cosa --- the thing
los libros --- the topic
las cosas --- the things
The articles are much more common in Spanish. Many times when you wouldn't say
them in English, you need to say them in Spanish.
Ex:
Chocolate is my favorite. = El chocolate es mi favorito.
In English we don't say, 'The chocolate is my favorite…' but in Spanish, you do.
