Great language-learning websites
To finish the topic, I will recommend some great websites you can use to practice Spanish.
Some include more than one languages in case you want to tackle another language along
with Spanish. They provide you with games to practice vocabulary use and grammar, audio
support, and verb conjugation practice. Something most of the websites have in common
is they use repetition of the vocabulary in different ways to help you memorize it, a great
language tool! I tried to cut it down to ten, and then to fifteen but there were so many good
ones, my final cut included sixteen web sites. I had so much fun going through the websites
and trying them out. I even tried some of them out in languages I know nothing about to see
what it is like for a beginning learner.
1. BBC Languages Mi vida Loca
- This website has a different way of teaching you Span-
ish. It contains an interactive drama for beginners in Spanish. It takes you on a mystery ad-
venture through Madrid and includes the major grammar points for beginning learners of
Spanish. Each episode is accompanied by a learning section with its vocabulary and gram-
mar.

Busuu
- You have to join and create a login to this page. It is divided into lessons for
beginners. It presents the vocabulary to you then tests you on it. It is nice because you are
able to set learning goals and track your progress.

Vocabulix
- This site gives you the option of creating a login or skipping it to learn
without registration. It is divided into five sections, vocabulary (multiple choice), vocabu-
lary (spelling), verbs, grammar, and reading. With this one, you can also track your progress.

Duolingo
- This site is very user friendly with great graphics. You can set daily goals
and if you create a profile, save your progress. You have a choice of starting with beginning
Spanish or taking a placement test. Overall, it has the best graphics out of these websites.
5. Memrise -
This site has courses on multiple subjects. You can learn several languages
throuth this interactive learning site. It contains 300 words and phrases in Spanish. You have
an option of upgrading for a pay membership.
