as I assume they do nearly everywhere else. More often they
are confused with loud, large and playful Americans, than
with cold and stingy Brits. The French rarely pick up the
difference in accent. Heavy drinking groups of young foreign
men, however, win no points among the French. Even with
a high rate of alcoholism, the French are intolerant of public
displays of inebriation.
The Asians in General
Non-French Asians are generally assumed to be polite,
very intelligent, hard-working and non-aggressive, except
concerning money matters...similar to the French Asians.
In the Paris phone booths in the Belleville district you will fi nd Chinese
immigrants chatting and feeling right at home.
