Private French Tutors
My own personal favourite is Nico Rimbal (www.
frenchteacher.canalblog.com). But you can find others
on websites such as (www.paris.craigslist.org) and (www.
parisvoice.franglo.com) and through local church and
cultural organisations, lised above. The important thing is
to find someone who understands his language's structural
rules, and who can explain them to you clearly, as you go
along. It is not usually very successful, getting together with
a beginner English speaker and trying to learn beginner
French from him. It really takes a pro to give you a firm
foundation in the language. That is not to discourage the
advantages of 'pillow talk' for its own sake, should Cupid
bring that opportunity your way.
Cultural Activities
All French cities, but Paris, especially, offers a bewildering range
of entertainment, from major international art, music and film
festivals right down to interesting and unique neighborhood
