selection of the house wines, red, white or rosé . These
come in a carafe, usually a quarter ( quart ), half ( demi )
or full litre ( litre ). Otherwise see the Carte des Vins for
more choices; you will have to pay extra. You cannot
bring your own wine to a restaurant in France, but you
can ask an establishment that knows you to hold your
partially finished bottle of wine until the next day's
meal. This is particularly convenient if you are using
your hotel's dining room. Sadly, this does not hold for
leftovers. You can't ask for a doggy bag. Everything is
cooked fresh to be eaten
immediately in France. Anyway,
food portions are small.
