Choosing Oracle Homes
Problem
You want to choose a specific Oracle Home from multiple Oracle Homes defined in a Windows server.
Solution
Unlike Unix, where you can choose a specific Oracle Home by exporting the ORACLE_HOME environment variable,
you have to follow a slightly different approach for accomplishing the same in Windows. If you have more than one
Oracle Home in Windows, you have to choose a menu item to choose one over the other. Here are the steps:
1.
Choose Start Program Oracle - OraDb12c_home1 Oracle Installation Products
Universal Installer. It brings up a window similar to the one shown in Figure 21-18 .
Figure 21-18. Selecting Oracle Home
2.
Click on the tab labeled Environment. In that pane, you will see the Oracle Homes defined
in the machine. Unselect the Oracle Homes you don't want and select the one you want.
