Configuring Backup Policies
Problem
You want to configure your RMAN auto-backup control file and retention policies.
Solution
From the main EM screen navigate to Availability, then Backup and Recovery, and then Backup Settings. Now click on
the Policy tab. You should now see a screen similar to Figure
19-23
. On this screen, you can configure RMAN policies,
such as the following:
•
Backing up the control file and server initialization file automatically
•
Not backing up files that haven't changed since the previous backup
•
Enabling block change tracking
•
Excluding tablespaces from backups
•
Establishing retention policies
