plasmid injected intradermally into Swiss Webster mice.
Bis(guanidinium)-tren-cholesterol (BGTC) prepared by combining bis-guani-
dinium with cholesterol, ( Fig. 4.18 ) proved to be an effective transfection vector in
eukaryotic cells [245] . Subsequently, the same group has demonstrated an in vivo
transfection activity [246] . Solodin explored the concept of introducing nitrogen-
containing heterocyclics in the structure of the lipidic vector and came up with sev-
eral imidazolium-based cationic lipids [247] . Exploring this direction further, a series
