sia, Asia, and America. It's presented in a wild, organic, and strikingly modern building that
causedastirinPariswhenitopenedin2006.Masks,statuettes,musicalinstruments,clothes,
voodoo dolls, and a variety of temporary exhibitions and activities are artfully presented
andexquisitelylit.It'snot,however,accompaniedbymuchprintedEnglishinformation—to
really appreciate the exhibit, you need to rent the audioguide. Even if you skip the museum,
drop by its peaceful garden café for fine Eiffel Tower views (closes 30 minutes before mu-
seum)andenjoytheintriguinggardens.Thepedestrian bridgethatcrossestheriverandruns
up to the museum has terrific views of the Eiffel Tower.

National Maritime Museum (Musée National de la Marine)

Napoleon. Don't miss the model and story of how the obelisk on Place de la Concorde was
delivered from Egypt to Paris entirely by waterways (behind stairs leading down to special
exhibits space). Take advantage of the audioguide that explains key exhibits and adds im-
portant context to your visit. Kids love it, too.
