Josep Puig i Cadafalch custom-designed this house for the
Amatller family. The facade features a creative mix of three of Spain's historical traditions:
Moorish-style pentagram-and-vine designs; Gothic-style tracery, gargoyles, and bay win-
dows; and the step-gable roof from Spain's Habsburg connection to the Low Countries.
