Alilaguna Airport Boats
These boats make the scenic (if slow) journey across the lagoon, each shuttling passengers
between the airport and a number of different stops on the island of Venice (€15, €25 round-
trip, €1 surcharge if bought on boat, roughly 2/hour, 1-1.5-hour trip depending on destina-
tion). Alilaguna boats are not part of the ACTV vaporetto system, so they aren't covered by
city transit passes. But they do use the same docks and ticket windows as the regular vapor-
etti.
There are three Alilaguna lines—blue, red, and orange. Stops near recommended hotels
include: San Marco, San Zaccaria, Zattere, Guglie, Rialto, and Fondamente Nove. For a full

7:00 to midnight.
From Venice to the Airport: Ask your hotelier what dock and what line is best. Boats

Scope out the dock and buy your ticket in advance to avoid last-minute stress.
Water Taxis
Luxury taxi speedboats zip directly between the airport and the closest dock to your hotel,
getting you within steps of your final destination in about 30 minutes. The official price is
€110foruptofourpeople;add€10foreveryextraperson(10-passengerlimit).Youmayget
a higher quote—politely talk it down. A taxi can be a smart investment for small groups and
those with an early departure.
From the airport, arrange your ride at the water-taxi desk or with the boat captains loun-
ging at the dock. From Venice, book your taxi trip the day before you leave. Your hotel will
help (since they get a commission), or you can book directly with the Consorzio Motoscafi
water taxi association (tel. 041-522-2303, www.motoscafivenezia.it ).
Airport Shuttle Buses
Buses between the airport andVenice are fast, frequent, andcheap. They take youacross the
bridgefromthemainlandtotheisland,droppingyouatVenice'sbusstation,atthe“mouthof
