In-Depth Information
Roadify -Roadify is one of the best transportation apps around. It tells you
which subway lines or buses you need to take, as well as gives you pricing
estimates for your cab ride. If there are delays, construction on the lines, or
a traffic jam, it will tell you. Rest easy and just follow the instructions. If
you're caught without a subway map, Roadify has all the MTA maps and
guides available on there and are easy to download.
Yelp- When browsing for restaurants, it's best to take the suggestions of loc-
als. Instead of asking, why not use an app to just show you the ratings of the
best restaurants in the shortest distance? Yelp is one of the most commonly
used apps in New York and it's free!
Tweat.It- New York City is known as a major hub for food trucks. From
Gorilla Cheese's Gourmet Grilled Cheeses to the Taco Truck to grabbing a
waffle kabob from Waffels and Dinges, the food truck world is your oyster.
However, with limited time in the city, how do you know where to go and
get the best grub? By using the Tweat.it app, you can locate food trucks that
are close by or favorites in your search bar. Much like yelp, you can search
different food options to get the best truck for your palette. Try the Cupcake
Truck.

Other Important Tips:
Try to see different sides of New York City. Whether at the top of the Empire
State Building, at the Top of the Rock, on a ferry, or high above the skyline
in a helicopter, it's worth getting new perspective.
Frank Sinatra once sang in New York, New York that “If you can make it
here, you can make it anywhere ”. He wasn't wrong! New York is an over-
whelming place. If you're not used to walking around as much, plan for a
nap. If you get dizzy or hungry, make sure to either bring a snack with you
or grab something. There's a coffee shop on every corner. If you're over-
whelmed by the fast pace, find a bench, breath and soak it all in.
While planning your trips, be sure to tack on an hour to your commute. With
public transportation stops, walking to and from the subway/bus stop, as
well as potentially getting lost, it's more likely to take more time than less.
