In-Depth Information
Run with stall. If you like to keep your horse in a stall when the weather is bad or when
you want him to be clean for a competition, keeping him in a stall with an attached run is
ideal. You can choose to keep him in or out at a moment's notice.
Horse Clothing
Whether your horse lives in a pasture, stall, or pen, you might want to outfit him with
some protective clothing. Knowing about the different types of horse clothing will help you
choose the most appropriate sheet or blanket and save you time and money when you go
shopping.
If you will be keeping your horse in a stall a good deal of the time, you will be choosing
stable clothing that is comfortable and durable but not necessarily waterproof. If your horse
will be living in a pen or on pasture, you'll choose turnout sheets and blankets that are
tough and weatherproof.
STABLE CLOTHING
Sheets and blankets for stall use should be comfortable, breathable, and well fitted. They
should be durable enough to withstand rubbing but because they won't get wet and muddy,
they don't need to be weatherproof.
