In-Depth Information
Due toagricultural runoff, irrigation water is notnecessarily suitable drinking water
for horses. In addition, some canals pose safety hazards for horses.
Wetlands (subirrigated “swampy” lowlands) filter pollutants and help prevent flooding
and erosion, so are a valuable resource to be protected. Keep horses off wetlands when they
are wet.
