14 Water
G ood-quality water is of vital importance to the health and well-being of you and your
horses, as well as for the proper functioning of your acreage. The drinking water must be not
only safe for horses to drink but also palatable, so horses will want to drink it. In addition,
suitable water is needed for washing horses, feeders, and blankets; hard water or water of
poor quality makes these chores more difficult.
