These 5-foot-tall, general-purpose farm panels were too short for Sherlock as a
yearling.
A paddock can be thought of as a large grassy pen or a small pasture, ranging from one-
half to several acres.
Pastures are large, improved, well-maintained grazing areas provided mainly for their
nutritional value, with the added bonus of exercise. (See chapter 13 , Land, for more in-
formation.)
PANELS
Metal panels can be used to make “instant fence”—enclosures of various shapes and sizes
to house or train horses—round pens, turnout pens, runs, or outdoor covered “stalls.” The
