BUCK FENCE
A buck fence is ideal for rocky or very irregular terrain where postholes would be difficult
if not impossible to engineer. A buck fence is a series of triangles that sit on top of the
ground and are connected by rails. Because it is usually made of long, thin poles (bark on
or off), a buck fence looks very rustic. It would be an open invitation for wood chewing if
used for a small confinement area. It is most suitable for large mountain pastures.
PVC FENCE
Usually referred to as PVC, polyvinyl chloride fence is available in several styles: post and
board, post and rail, and post and ribbon. Used in traditional white, it makes a very hand-
