training pens.
C: TWO-RAIL SMOOTH BOARD
An arena used only for riding, not for turnout, mainly needs a visual barrier provided
by one or two smooth board rails set on the inside.
D: THREE STRANDS OF ELECTRIC TAPE
Electric tape should not be trusted by itself for boundary fence, but it is ideal for tem-
porary fence and for keeping horses away from trees.
E: 6′ METAL PANELS
It is hard to beat sturdy metal panels for fencing small areas such as runs that need to
withstand a lot of horse contact.
F: CONTINUOUS PIPE ON WOOD POSTS WITH ONE ELECTRIC ON TOP
Continuous pipe fence on treated posts with an electric fence wire on top makes a very
secure perimeter fence that a horse will not go through or lean over.
